The Obama Bingo Site!

Obama Bingo

Thursday 28th August saw the Obama convention speech take place and two Denver business men came up with the idea of integrating bingo with politics and launched Obama Bingo. The beneficiaries of Obama Bingo were 581 charities that were listed at Obama Bingo for participants to choose from when they purchased their bingo cards for $10.

The whole idea was that the convention speech by Obama was captured and linked in with the site so that whoever scored a line of 5 first under the BINGO heading would be declared the winner.

The bingo board at Obama Bingo was very much like a 75 ball bingo card but all the words were replaced with words that could be used in Obama's convention speech; a bit like Bullshait Bingo that is played in business meetings worldwide.

People who chose to take part in Obama Bingo paid $10 and chose the charity of there choice, they were then allocated a bingo card with 25 words on it. Taking a look at the web site today Obama Bingo raised a grand total of $720.

The winning charity was The AIDS Research Alliance and the word that won bingo was Terrorists with a total of 7 winners from Obama Bingo.

Here is the winning ticket:-

Data taken from the Obama Bingo website.

Total Funds Collected: $720.00
Total Funds for Distribution: $720.00
Number of winning tickets: 7
Word from the speech the initiated 1st bingo: Terrorists

With the political race for the American Presidency I would have expected more than 72 people to have purchased tickets for the game and I am wondering if Obama is elected President will Obama Bingo run another game but this time using Obama's acceptance speech?

Maybe someone in the UK could create a Brown's Bingo in preparation for Gordon Brown's resignation speech or am I being too presumptuous here?
